2012 Al-Anon/Alateen News, Business, Messages and Events

Happy New Year!

I am Cheryl B. and your new District 5 Representative. I want to wish everyone a happy and serene 2012! We have a change coming up in January with the moving of the answering service phone from longtime member Georgia to a district cell phone that will be answered by our district volunteers. Georgia will still maintain the literature and she has lots of good titles of our CAL. Our district is hosting a Gratitude/Cabin Fever day, January 21st from 1pm-3pm at King of Kings Lutheran Church on Packard Rd , Ann Arbor. Look for info on our website. As a former Literature Chair, I would encourage all to use our conference approved books and The Forum to strengthen your program. Also, we could be open to trying different meetings to break out of the box and wake up our program! I hope we all find the serenity we seek in 2012! Cheryl B.

Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 1pm to 3pm District 5's Cabin Fever/Gratitude Day was held at King of Kings Lutheran Church at 2685 Packard Rd near Eisenhower Blvd in Ann Arbor.  It was be highlighted by a talk from our former Michigan Delegate, Skeet J. from Whitmore Lake. The members of the service correspond by writing letters to “Lone Member Contacts,” i.e. Al-Anon members who attend regular face-to-face Al-Anon meetings.
