Al-Anon Service Opportunities:
Our Seventh
Tradition
states that Al-Anon is a self-supporting program. We
are supported not only by member contributions, but also by member
service! And, member service helps the
individual who serves as well as the Al-Anon members and program. There are
service opportunities at all levels of Al-Anon/Alateen. Here are a few!

Alateen
Sponsors and Alateen Service Support Needed: Our area Alateen program needs adult Al-Anon member(s) to sponsor Alateen
groups and support Alateen activities. Alateen sponsorship is extremely rewarding
for the Alateen sponsor and extremely helpful for the Alateen members. Have YOU
ever thought of becoming involved with Alateen service? The Al-Anon publication, “Alateen Sponsorship--Is
It For You?” (S-27)
provides an overview of the requirements to be an Alateen sponsor. For
information on how you can sponsor an Alateen group or help support Alateen
activities, please click here!

Michigan Area Al-Anon News:
IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO
ALL GROUPS: Michigan
Al-Anon Family Groups Incorporated (MI AFG) is in the process of reconstructing
and clarifying all of the state group records.
In order to accomplish this, the Michigan Group Records Coordinator
needs to acquire an “Al-Anon Registration/Group Records Change Form” for every
group in the state. MI AFG has adapted
the World Service Office (WSO) registration/change form in order to implement
standardization and consistency. The
form has been adapted into an Excel Template so the MI AFG Group Records
coordinator can receive it electronically and avoid having to re-key data –
thus keeping errors to a minimum.
HERE’S WHAT
IS NEEDED:
w For groups in District 5 - each Group Rep or CMA should e-mail
(District 5 Group Records Coordinator) at afgdistrict5@gmail.com or call Mary
Lou L. (734-645-3012) with any group changes.
District 5 has been reregistered with the state. It is now very
important to let us know of any changes made in the group.
w For groups outside of District 5 – please e-mail miafg.grouprecords@yahoo.com to
request an E-File Registration Form Template from the Group Records
Coordinator. If your Group Rep or another group member
is not able or does not wish to complete the form in the above manner, please
e-mail miafg.grouprecords@yahoo.com
for help, or contact your local district Group Records person or District
Representative. They (or another
volunteer) will assist you.
The new
Michigan-area Group Records coordinator has been working VERY HARD on this
important information-gathering. Thank you, Kay, for your service!
Besides book marking this page, another way to keep up with Al-Anon activities in Michigan is
through the Serenity Sentinel, a quarterly newsletter for Michigan Al-Anon
Family Group members. The Serenity
Sentinel has articles from

Will the Forum grow - or
fade away? Readers are needed and Sharings are wanted. The Forum has an important role to play in
Al-Anon. It is called “A Meeting in My
Pocket.” The Forum is affordable at $11 per year. Each registered Al-Anon group is now
receiving a free copy of the Forum. It has been suggested that if each group
bought one or two copies of the magazine it would once again become a focal
point for Al-Anon unity and a bridge to the future. The Forum will fade away unless we, as a
fellowship, decide that it is worth our support. Please click here to print a
subscription form.
